Some of my strengthes on computer skills are typing fast and looking away when i type. Another strength of mine with computer skills is knowing how to do alot of functions using just the keyboard. Some of my weaknesses on computer skills are messing up sometimes when i type. Another one of my weaknesses is that alot of times i press the wrong button on the screen. In class i hope to learn how to use different kinds of websites and learn more about computers.

Greeting card Assignment

     What I did for my hand-made card was use crayons and a pencil to draw the picture of my family with a table behind them and wrote my personal message. It was a little diffacult to do the drawing but it ended up being good! My computer made card was a little harder to create because im not very good at using the mouse for this kind of stuff. But that turned out okay too. My hand-made card looks most like my computer made card because the drawing was easy to make so they look alot alike.

 

Answer the Following:

1. Q:What are the pros and cons of each method? (identify atleast two pros and two cons for each method)

A: One pro is that on the computer the typing looks very neat. One con on the computer is that when you use paint or a drawing program it is much harder to make the image. Another pro is that you can use different fonts with computers and with just your hands its pretty hard to just do pretty good fonts.

 

2. Q:Which method took more time and why?

A: The computer took me longer because it was harder to do it with the mouse.

 

3. Q: Which method is your preferred method and why?         

 

A: The method I preferred is the computer because it looks neater. It may take more time but it will look nice.

    On Club penguin you are a virtual penguin, and can walk around in an icy world! There are many different places you can go and almost each room has a fun game or two you can play! When you play games you earn coins and can buy special items for your penguin online, but only a couple items because if you want items for your igloo and for your penguin then you have to get special permission from your parents to become a member. When you are a member you have to pay $5.95 for 1 month for a year. You can also cancel your membership anytime. I think the age group for club penguin is 4+ because it is appropriate for little kids.

 

     The front page of club penguin is very colorful and has different colors of penguins saying different things you can go to on the site! There are different penguins that say click here for whatever, and then at the top of the page there are words such as "parents, community, membership, toys, and help" that you can click and go to. There is also a blog! On the blog one owner of club penguin writes in it about every other week or two, other people can comment on the blog, too. You can click a link that says "Toys" and you can look at a bunch of different toys that are made from club penguin!

 

     The purpose of club penguin is basically to let people be their own penguin and be on a virtual world and meet new friends. There is definately no website like it. It's one of a kind. The text is really easy to read and you know where you are on the website because there is a big font on every page saying what page your at.

The Quiz I Took:

 

The quiz was easy except for a couple of questions. My score was 9/10 which is better than what I would have had in the beginning of the quarter. I took the I know the internet quiz. There was a couple hard questions but i managed to get a pretty good score. I thought the rest of the test despite the few questions was very easy. 

 

 

 

What i loved of this class:

What i loved of this class is everything we did was soooooo fun!! Mrs. Wathen and Mrs. Anderson are some of my favorite teachers and they were so fun to do this with. i had a lot of fun with the wiki and the html was my favorite. For next year I am happy to say that everything we did this year would be perfect for next year and i'm sure me and everybody else would be perfectly happy with everything we did. I think we should keep this wiki up so everyone can keep in touch with all our fiends over the summer and we can always talk and post news about us :)
